The Great Market Hall is a magical place to visit if you’re a foodie and looking for something very authentic in Budapest.
The building that houses the market is situated at the Pest side of the Danube at the foot of Liberty bridge. It’s beautifully decorated on the outside and inside an array of stalls selling fresh produce, pastries, authentic Hungarian products, souvenirs and much more. This is a great place to have lunch as many stalls offer authentic local hot food and at a very reasonable price.
The Great Market Hall is not your typical tourist attraction, but it’s always busy with people as many of the locals do their weekly grocery shop here. It’s definitely worth a visit whether you want to buy some souvenirs or just want to indulge in some local cuisine.
